House Passes Massive Stimulus Package


I first heard about this story when I read the morning paper. Then I did some addictional research on this topic online. One of the reasons why this story is important is because it shows that Obama is swift in action. It is one of the signs that Obama is staying true to his words regarding what he would do in the White House. However, despite being approved by the majority in the House of Representatives, it also shows how non-bipartisan the stimulus package is.


The reason why this is newsworthy is because of its importance. Though it is going through House, the Stimulus Package can affect everyone. Some people in the U.S. will either benefit from the package or suffer from taxation resulting in its passage.

Another reason why it is newsworthy is because of its timeliness. America is going through a Recession and any news regarding national spending should be important.

It is also newsworthy because the news is caused by popular public figure and is somewhat a novelty. Barack Obama, which somewhat near the peak of his fame, is certainly front news martial. It is also a novelty because Obama is the first African-American president and this is one of his first bills that he plans on getting passed.
