The top news would have to be on Tuesday night when President Obama addressed the nation and Congress. He promised worried Americans that the U.S. "will emerge stronger than before." Obama also promised the country will recover from its current crisis.

The reason this is the top news is because it shows what the government's message is to the American public. It is important to understand the government's confidence in itself and the people within the country. Also, the message was just a couple days ago, making it still timely.

The novelty public figure, Barack Obama, also makes this address more newsworthy. This address can affect anyone in this country because it can help establish confidence within those that hear it. Those that are feeling doubt about the economic crisis and the stimulus bill can feel more assured by it.

Again I will stay consistent by saying that the stimulus bill is still the most important news item of this week.

But this time, it is important for people to understand the effects this bill has on the economy and in people's lives.

With this article, from the Washington Post, it states that the mortgage rates dropped as Obama signed the stimulus bill. With the passing of the bill, people can see the its sudden effects. The reason why the sudden drop is news worthy is because it can affect all people, locally and globally. It is also timely because the stimulus bill was only signed and approved by Congress last week. And also, the infamous novelty president, Barack Obama, is center of attention once again when he signed the bill.

With its importance, novelty, public figure, and timely factors, the sudden effects of the stimulus bill, such as dropping rates, is still the most important news item of the week.

Despite the plane crash in Buffalo and the steroid scandal with Alex Rodriquez, I decided to choose the passing of the stimulus bill as the most important story of the week.

The plane crash, though being a serious tragedy, could only affect a certain number of individuals. It could affect the people in the area, the families of the victims, future airplane passengers, and the workers in the airlines industry. The steroid scandal could affect everyone in the professional sports industry. It could also affect the children who planning to a professional sport in the future. This scandal can definitely send a serious message of cheating to any aspiring athlete.

But why did I choose the stimulus bill again? It is just that important. It seriously affects everyone, whether they like it or not. The stimulus bill can affect the struggling middleclass teacher who is trying to support his or her family. It can affect the rich CEO, who is trying to maintain stability in his company.

Also, out of all the other top news out there, this is the timeliest out of all them. The bill was just passed at 10:47 pm yesterday. Though it was released on the timely manner, this story did lack the local presence.

The enormously popular novelty public-figure, President Barack Obama, who was responsible for the bill, makes this much more newsworthy. Obama, the first African American president, and his plans are finally coming to life and it is important should know about it.

Obama, Senate reach deal on economic stimulus package

I first heard about this story on the newspaper. Afterwards, I did some additional research online and found this article from the Chicago Tribute. The reason why this news story is important because it shows that there is massive conflict in Washington.

The stimulus package, which Obama believes is the answer to America’s economic problems, is receiving a lot tension within the Senate. The stimulus bill, which was passed in the House of Representative solely by Democrats, is having a difficult time recruiting Republicans to approve the bill. It is these kinds of tensions that stall any sort of action regarding American’s current crisis.

Also, this new story shows that the nation is still divided over the issue. Though it seemed that Obama has bipartisan support at first, this story solidifies that he has a long way to go in regards to unifying a nation.

This story is very timely and it is newsworthy because almost everyone is affected by this bill. The recession is crippling the American way of life and Obama’s plans of rescue are put on hold.
