Despite the plane crash in Buffalo and the steroid scandal with Alex Rodriquez, I decided to choose the passing of the stimulus bill as the most important story of the week.
The plane crash, though being a serious tragedy, could only affect a certain number of individuals. It could affect the people in the area, the families of the victims, future airplane passengers, and the workers in the airlines industry. The steroid scandal could affect everyone in the professional sports industry. It could also affect the children who planning to a professional sport in the future. This scandal can definitely send a serious message of cheating to any aspiring athlete.
But why did I choose the stimulus bill again? It is just that important. It seriously affects everyone, whether they like it or not. The stimulus bill can affect the struggling middleclass teacher who is trying to support his or her family. It can affect the rich CEO, who is trying to maintain stability in his company.
Also, out of all the other top news out there, this is the timeliest out of all them. The bill was just passed at 10:47 pm yesterday. Though it was released on the timely manner, this story did lack the local presence.
The enormously popular novelty public-figure, President Barack Obama, who was responsible for the bill, makes this much more newsworthy. Obama, the first African American president, and his plans are finally coming to life and it is important should know about it.
